Fertility UK: www.fertilityuk.org
A very clear, well-organised and highly informative source on Natural Family Planning. NFP observes “the natural signs and symptoms or clinical indicators of fertility,” thus determining the fertile and infertile phases of a woman’s menstrual cycle. This can be used to boost the chances of pregnancy.
There is a chapter on the physiology of fertility, male (a brief “fact file on sperm”) and female (hormonal and ovarian activity and changes in the basal body temperature, cervix and mucus), with charts.
A large part of the site deals with monitoring physiological changes in a woman’s cycle.
It contains step-by-step explanations on noting temperature, changes in the cervical mucus and changes in the shape of the cervix.
A sympto-thermal chart combines all the above indicators to show the complete picture of symptomatic changes during the period. There are also blank charts combining BBT and other indicators you can print out and use as homework!
